even when u think theres no chance of a fighter to win he proves the world wrong reminds everybody that mma is the greatest sport in the world where anything can happen, fedor wil always be 1 of the greatest fighters i've ever seen and last night dont change anything in my eyes ,1 lost in 10 years still pretty good in my eyes,i took fedor on dec giving werdum alot of credit but to win didnt see it,still kind of in disbelief

I knew Werdum was a high level opponent, I figured it would be an even fight until Fedor Ko'd Werdum. However, I was never a Fedor worshiper, who thinks he broke through the atmosphere, or lives in an active volcano. His expression and hyped up aura make people crazy imo. Fedor may be one the greatest of all time, but these days there are better styles, better fighters. Like Wandy, losing doesnt make your previous acomplishments gone, but does mean that at the time of that loss, there was a better guy. I think the overhand right, would be a predictable weapon to avoid for UFC guys, and theres no way Fedor could beat 2 of the 4 big guys, Carwin, Lesnar, Cain, Jr. Maybe Fedor should retire if he don't wanna lose anymore. When fighters lose once, they usually lose again, unless they go to the bottom of the ladder competition.

Seven years ago Fedor shrugged off triangle attempts like nothing. He's either shot or doesn't care about fighting anymore. I think it's the latter.

I agree Werdum's still the man now., not #1 but still I bet Dana's kicking himself for cutting him.

As for the loss, I picked Fedor but in the back of my mind I was thinking he COULD lose

I'm not really a fan of rematchs in fights that werent really controversial. Like Le/Smith 2 last night.

Plus Werdum vs Ubereem should be lined up next, and Fedor can face Big Foot silva.

Fedor is the greatest fighter of all time, no I am not a nuthugger, just speaking the truth. Going 10 years without a defeat unheard of, perhaps he hasn't fight a lot of top opponents of late, that doesn't mean he still doesn't have it. Losing to Werdum was a fluke in my book. Here is a guy that got KTFO in UFC by Dos Santos then subsequently let go. I predict Overeem knocking out Werdum in the first 2 minutes.

Off topic why is Werdum's feet black?

Fedor is still the man. The loss was God's will and he will be back. He got caught. I would like to see a rematch.

lol, 5 trolls vote yes.

BTW, I think Fedor wins a rematch. He really didn't respect Werdums BJJ. I think he KO's him in the rematch. Lesson learned.

I think Werdum got cut for two losses one of which was a very boring loss to A.A imo.... after Jr., who was not well known yet ko'd Werdum, pink slip made sense (considering UFC cuts guys for 2 losses)
This fight is not a fluke imo. Werdum just won Abu Dhabi recently, and has an ill triangle. Fedor overlooked that when trying to finish.

Since Overeem vs Werdum

should come before a rematch with Fedor

Fedor vs Bobby Lashley
for rating sake, since Fedor vs Overeem would have been a big rating puller for hardcore fans. Lashley will bring in the casual fans also, he wants to go slow, but also implied that the fans wanting him to fight Bigfoot or Rogers didnt make sense, because he said ... there is Fedor the best fighter, and Overeem the champ.

CARD
Fedor VS Lashley
Overeem vs Werdum Title
Big foot vs Del Rosario
Gilbert vs Alvarez (???)
Cyborg vs Toughill
Diaz vs Hendo

Eh, Werdum wouldn't be where he is anyways if Dana didn't cut him. He wouldn't have had the chance to dethrone Fedor

Del Rosario and Lashley are still prospects at this point. Throwing them in the mix against a top 10 and top 3 fighter respectively would be stupid.

Nah Dana will spin it. A fighter he cut lose due to 2 losses beats Fedor who he has always said is not as good as most people think.

Werdum didn't lose 2 in a row which is what guys usually get cut for. He lost to JDS several fights after losing to AA.

But back on topic.....

Great fight from Werdum. he has high level jits and you can't make mistakes with guys like that. I'd still pick Fedor in a rematch but I knew Werdum had a great shot if it hit the mat, Fedor's ground game is good but his submission defense has always been more about striking and explosion than technique.

I love the fact that this guy is so humble in defeat though. Maybe he'll come to the UFC, unfortunately for him it'll probably be for less money now that he's lost some of his aura.

Funniest thing for me was how Wedum kept his cool inside the cage but when they showed him on Camera walking out he was jumping up and down and screaming his lungs out.
