Kongo is going to KO Heath, and Heath is going to leave the UFC...they should have him fight Eddie Sanchez, and have Kongo fight AA!

Pretty amazing this is less than a month away, and just now official.

Not a bad fight. I figure that Kongo will probably beat Herring, but I think the UFC wants to give him one more average fighter just to make sure he's not a fluke. If he beats Herring, then look for him to get someone at or near the top of the HW divison. Maybe he'll get the loser of the Nog/Tim fight or the winner of the Brock/Mir fight. A title shot could be on the line in either one of those fights.

Based on skill sets, Herring should win this fight.

However, if there is an award for "dumbest fighter of the year" last year Herring should probably get it with his performances against O'Brian and Nog. Bitching at the ref is not an exceptable defense against the takedown. And while you can't totally blame Heath for not going to the ground with Nog to finish him, he probably would have won that fight if he had jumped on the all but KOed Nog after the kick.

Herring is bigger by about 30lbs, has beaten some good competition, and even holds a TKO win over Gary Goodridge who was a good enough kickboxer to fight in K-1(Kongo was not). I can't see Kongo winning unless he lands a liver kick like Cro Cop did, since Heath didn't want to quit even after what Fedor did to him(gross). He hasn't looked good in the UFC yet, but I think this will be a defining fight for him since it's must win.

I got herring by UD. See Cheicks fight with Marrero for reasoning.

I see Herring taking this one.

Kongo has no ground game or TD defense.

Herring by GnP, maybe a sub.

I refuse to have an orgasm every time somebody says "Cheick Kongo" out loud, so I pick Herring for this fight.

Dude I have to agree.... a Cheik Kongo vs. Andre Arlovski fight would be sick.

Andre coming off his silva losses and a disappointing last bout (which he did apologize for) I would love to see his return be against an energetic heavyweight light kongo.

That would be a battle.... I'd give it to the belarussian, but only if he could get a hold of kongo without taking a mean kick to the chin.

Just because of Big Daddy's name, Goodridge was very sloppy and got beat by mediocre fighters who had more disciplined styles, Kongo beat CC and will beat Herring, unless Herring goes to the ground then he will win, the fight of the ground specialists, who needs to Sprawl when you have great submissions?

I'm not jumping on the Kongo wagon but Herring isn't gonna win this fight. Herring is a good fighter but has struggled in the UFC. He had a good fight against Nog, but if he hadn't landed the huge head kick the fight would have ended by a Nog sub. Kongo is huge and is just gonna be too much for Herring.

You all are forgetting that Herring has been Training at Extreme couture. Take it for what it's worth, but I'm pretty sure Herring can get Kongo down, maybe at will, and now that he is training in Vegas, he should be a different fighter.
War herring!

Im a big Kongo fan and want to see him do well but Herring could easily fight smart and beat him with his wrestling and submissions, standing would be all Kongo so unless he gets a quick KO or something i just see Heath getting him down and winning a decision

Best fight they could make for Kongo though i think, he just needs to improve his sprawl - which he may have done and we may see it in this fight

Good point about the training camp, but I would like to add that Kongo is training with Rampage's camp in Big Bear and we have all seen the results and changes in him, I think this fight will probably be a lot better than I had originally perceived!
