Bart Palaszewski (35-14 MMA, 0-0 UFC) and Tyson Griffin (15-5 MMA, 8-3 UFC) have agreed to meet in October at UFC 137.

As part of the expected booking, Palaszewski is dropping a weight class to fight the fellow ex-lightweight at featherweight.

Palaszewski's management team at the VF Elite Sports Agency today confirmed the fight. MMAjunkie.com (www.mmajunkie.com) also confirmed it with a source close to Griffin.

Featuring a welterweight title fight between current champ Georges St-Pierre and former Strikeforce titleholder Nick Diaz, UFC 137 takes place Oct. 29 at the Mandalay Bay Events Center in Las Vegas.

The night's main card airs on pay-per-view, though Palaszewski vs. Griffin likely will be part of the preliminary card.

I'm excited for this. Wanted Bart to get a win, but Griffin's wrestling will probably be too much.

I think Bart will take this fight, but Griffin might grind it out.

Griffin has has lost 3 of his last 4 fights after winning 4 of his first 5.
Although palaszewski is game to scrap, griffins takedowns and g&p will be the difference IMO. Griffin by UD

I'm taking Palaszewski. I do not believe Tyson Griffin's wrestling is better than Kamal Shalorus' wrestling, or even as good. I feel that Bartimus actually won that fight against Shalorus. Maybe I am alone in that too, I don't know.

I'm really going to be rooting for Palaszewski though. He is an exciting fighter, and I hope he can carve out a nice niche for himself in the UFC.

One too many takedowns for Tyson will be Bart's undoing.

Totally agree. And Bart did win that fight with Sharlarous. Who is a better wrestler than Tyson.

Man Shalorus a good wrestler I will disagree I know he was on his home country olympic team or whatever but the actual talent to me is suspect...

I see where you're coming from. Personally, I think Tyson is the better mixed martial artist, and Shalorus is the better wrestler. He's a super strong LW, and I think that and his wrestling is what carried him until he met my boy Jim Miller and got hooked up with that sweet knee to the chin

I'd also like to add that dropping to FW is going to be great for Bart. Its something I've suggested to him in the past.

He was always a small LW.
