When the possible match up with Wanderlei Silva for UFC 76 fell through and Keith Jardine was named as Chuck Liddell's next opponent, reports surfaced that the former UFC light heavyweight champion picked Jardine as his opponent. Liddell recently spoke with MMAWeekly, setting the record straight about how the fight with Jardine transpired.

well they should have posted in news share forum where all can see when they log on to read mma news, posting news in a disscusion forum doesnt help the people who come on this site for the news.

if it isn't already in the news forum there's no problem with him posting it here... I'm not a fan of repeat threads, but something like this should be in the news section, not the pride/ufc section. Thanks for the article.

What sense is there for Chuck Liddell to "hand-pick" the fight against Jardine? People who think that are out of their minds. Jardine is a MAJOR step-down for Liddell. There is nothing that Liddell can gain out of knocking out Jardine. Even If Liddell wins by a unanimous decision, then people will bash him for not knocking Jardine out. And there is always a chance that Liddell loses, which would be devastating for his career. Now, could one of the smart ass know-it-alls on this forum please explain to me, why in the world would Liddell pick Jardine??

Losing against Wandy, or Shogun is better for Liddell career-wise than a knock-out (not guaranteed!) against Jardine. The highlight of Jardine's career was a lucky punch against Griffin, another overhyped TUFer.

Whether true or not, those are the words I want to hear from any fighter. I also agree that even if he had nothing to do w/ it there was consideration to giving him a warmup to get back in the groove for Wandy/Shogun/Machida....

Damnit......I've never seen so many useless posts........Quit arguing, who cares, just talk about the thread or shut up...........This Liddell/Jardine matchup is what I would call a "biding-time" fight, especially now that Dana FINALLY signed Wandy....

When people are posting threads about whether or not this topic has been posted or not, it's useless and pointless, as was yours. Either talk about the thread or not. However, I followed my comment up with one that actually pertains to the situation, unlike yourself. My second post may have not been relative to the topic but it was to the posts and at least it might've may some ppl laugh. If you want to make a comment like the one you just did, then pm me. Other people don't want to hear this crap. Apparently you're not that smart, but that's ok, that's why we have jobs for people like you, such as burger flippers at McD's and BK.
